The following new taxa and new combinations involve sedges occurring in the area of the 'Flora of West Tropical Africa' and their publication is preparatory to the appearance of the last part of the revised edition of that Flora. Further descriptions and illustrations of the new species will appear in a future part of Hooker's Icones Plantarum.
